How Copr Choppers Came to Be
Builder / Owner Tony Martinez has been exposed to motorcycles since childhood. His father (Abel Martinez) was a retired machinist that use to ride and build “Old School” choppers right out of his garage. Tony was fortunate to have his father’s skills passed down to him. He owns his own machine shop and has invested his time into welding, and metal fabrication.
The Copr Chopper motto is “One bike at a time”. Once he takes on a project, he turns down all other work until the project is complete. Tony’s choppers are “one off customs” built from the ground up.
The Building Process
Tony took the necessary time to ensure that each bike was a radical award-winning chopper. Tony fabricates his own gas tanks, handlebars, sheet metal, and billet accessories from scratch. He follows no one as he designs full customs from the ground up. He chops, stretches and slams the iron into perfection. When an owner rides a Copr Chopper, Tony’s reputation is on that bike.
Tony’s goal is make sure that the bike draws attention in a radical way. As you look at a Copr Chopper, you will see that Tony did not spare any expense on the build. He runs the best products on the market and fabricates one off parts that make the bike unique. To top off a Copr Chopper, Tony applies the coolest paint jobs around. When the project is complete, the customer is assured to have a smile from ear to ear.
Championship Titles
Tony was asked to participate in the Colorado Biker Build Off Championship in 2007. He built a bike called GROUND POUNDER. He clearly won the title by popular vote of the thousands that attended. He defended his title the following year of 2008 by building a one off chopper called PHAT AZZ. This bike created the second undefeated win for the same title. In 2008, he was asked to participate in a four state Biker Build Off Championship hosted by the Route 66 Super Show in Albuquerque New Mexico. With no surprise, he won against Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.
Building a Family Legacy With Pride
The name “COPR CHOPPERS” was formed in honor of Tony’s service to his community as a 25 year veteran as a Sergeant within the Denver Police Department. He loves to protect people and enjoys building bikes on the side to recharge his batteries. You can imagine how busy he is as he works 40 hours a week on the streets, and an additional 30 to 35 hours a week in the shop.
As for now, customers are being put on hold, as he is building an Old School Bobber in respect and honor to his teacher, idle and father named Abel Martinez. His father recently passed away. These bikes will rock!!
